Weekend run worth a million words

Friday we drove up to Kingman, AZ for the long weekend, Since it was my sons birthday and he loves seafood, we took him to Laughlin, NV for the Friday night Seafood Buffet. He was in heaven. Saturday I got up around 4am and got ready to run the 16 miles from my in-laws house to the cabin. I was able to complete the 16 miles in 4:47 which was not too bad for a long slow run. Oh yea there is 3000 feet elevation change from start to finish. I got the garmin out and turned it on and it told me that the battery is low. Oh well I put it up and headed out for the run. The first .75 miles was completely dark and no street lights, I knew where I was going so it was not too bad, actually enjoyable to run in the dark. I then ran along Route 66 for a couple of miles. Then the foothills came into play, they were just fine no more than a 5% elevation gain. I would run for 15 minutes and walk for 5 minutes. Once I got a couple of hours into the run I stopped by some distant in-laws house and refilled my water bottles. From their house the next four miles turned into a brisk walk/hike because it gets to be a 15% elevation gain and that makes it tough to run. I finally to to the top of the mountain and the last mile down the other side was fun, and could feel it on my legs as I ran down the steep slope. I got to the cabin and called Lori and she indicated that her dad was already on his way up to the cabin and she was heading up shortly. I decided to stretch and relax till they got there. I will definitely do this run many more times.

Geez... I figured you'd write a million words about it... or at least a million letters... lol.

So where were the pics of the cabin? Still have to go up and see this place.
